As always, I try to keep these installments of our Beaverland journal somewhat interesting and unique, notwithstanding the fact that it’s indeed a herculean task, because let’s face it – we’re not all that interesting and/or unique to begin with - and as a result, I don’t have all that much raw material to work with.

This years Beaverland adventure had it all. People being stalked by wild – well sort of wild – animals, unfinished “Welcome Coolers,” stuffed mushroom caps, snakes on a plane - or in this case a boat – a dead skunk in the middle of the road, camaraderie, a haberdashery extravaganza, and ahem - much, much more!

In his opinion they made great hot water bottles, and it was not unusual to find one tucked up under the sheets to keep your toes warm and toasty at night…”

While driving along Highway #11, about forty-five kilometres north of the city of North Bay Ontario, you will come across a sign marking the turn off for Beaverland Road. Make the turn, and after a short drive along the relatively narrow gravel road, you will arrive in Beaverland Camp.
